Terms of use

Last updated 2 September 2026

ClipForge is a private tool provided by its operator to a small number of invited people. It is not a commercial service, there is no fee, and there is no guarantee of availability or of your data surviving a failure. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.

What you may process

Add only video you own or are otherwise permitted to process. Every import records your confirmation that you have that permission. ClipForge does not check whether you do, and cannot — that judgement is yours, and the responsibility for it stays with you.

The tool does not circumvent access controls. It will not download material that a platform declines to serve, does not sign in to platforms on your behalf, and does not work around region locks, age gates or rate limits. If a source refuses, that is the end of it.

Publishing

If you connect a platform account, clips are uploaded only when you schedule or publish them. You remain responsible for what is posted to your account and for complying with that platform's own terms — including its rules on reused content, which are stricter than the ones here.

YouTube

Uploading to YouTube uses YouTube API Services. By connecting a channel you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, which apply to you directly and in addition to these terms. Where the two disagree about what may be uploaded, YouTube’s rules govern.

That matters most for reused content. YouTube judges whether a clip of someone else’s video is permissible, and it is stricter than these terms are. Nothing here grants you a right to upload material you do not have permission to use, and the tool cannot tell whether you do.

Accounts

Accounts are created by invitation. The operator can disable an account, and will do so if the instance is used in a way that puts the server or its other users at risk. Your projects are visible only to you; administrators can see that jobs exist and can disable accounts, but there is no route by which they can read another person's projects.

No warranty

The software is provided as-is. Clip suggestions are produced by heuristics and, optionally, a language model; they are frequently wrong, which is why every clip requires a person to approve it before anything renders or publishes.
